A controversial engineer who had an interest in technocracy, and helped to form the Technical Alliance, Committee on Technocracy, and Technocracy Incorporated.
I'm pretty sure, however, that I don't agree with Scott's views on Technocracy as the desired form of governance.
ReplyDeleteTechnocrats are neither infallible, nor immune to corruption. Scott's first effort at organizing a movement to actually try to implement a technocratic society, the Technical Alliance, folded within 2 years of its birth, its initial survey unfinished.
Technocracy's brief resurgence in the early 30s lasted even less time, approx. seven months (when Scott, attempting to silence his critics, delivered a rambling, confusing, and uninspiring address on a well-publicized nationwide radio hook-up).
That should tell ya something.
But, surely we can do better than a Plutocracy (Corporate or otherwise)?
